About

Once Upon a Time in the Year 2020, Tiny Kingdom Press was born. It was created with the intent of making good stories come alive. Fuelling children's fantasy. Our books often represent an active theme that combines the storyline with travelling experience, body expression and the danish word "hygge." We are a married couple with three children situated in Denmark. Together we have more than 60 years experience working professionally with children aged 0-18 years.

Besides being an author, I am also a mum of three children, a Genealogist, a Day Care Owner, and an Entrepreneur. Educationally, I have both a Teacher's and a University Master's Degree in English and Media Studies behind me.

I have always had a passion for writing, and being creative in general. I like to express myself creatively through crocheting and knitting, but also paper crafts and sewing. I am always underway with a new project to keep my hands busy. I find it very pleasing and relaxing to explore new techniques within DIY universe.

I am very fond of nature, and you can often find me outside in the garden growing vegetables and enjoying the outdoor living. My garden is full of birds and insects, but also hedgehogs, hares and the occasional deer passing by. I have built a small house for the hedgehog to hibernate in, and also a small “insect hotel” made from wood, cones and much more found in the forest and garden. We live close to both forest and sea, and we often take a walk outdoors to watch the scenery of the everchanging seasons.

Travelling has always been a big part of our family's life and a source of inspiration for books to come. I believe it is important for everyone to learn from each other and immerse themselves in new and exciting cultures.

Reading books is a most welcome challenge for me. I love words, and how they can open up your imagination simply by the way these words are put together. They can touch your heart and create a certain mood and emotion, with seemingly no effort at all.

I have always dreamed about becoming a writer myself, and although I have written many texts previously, “The little Ladybug travels to Paris” will be my first published work. I hope that it will be the beginning of a wonderful writing career, and that I too will be able to touch the reader's heart.

Thorbjørn Hartelius

I am a father, Author, Teacher, Educational Consultant, Magician, Storyteller, Grandmaster in Filipino Martial Arts.

I have a background as a school teacher, "folk high school" teacher, entrepreneur, chief instructor, national team coach, business developer, team builder and training officer.

I have extensive experience in facilitating both creative processes, team building events, Innovation camps, networking events, entrepreneurship and enterprising seminars that inspire schools, communities and government organizations to rethink.

Teaching Filipino Martial Arts has been a huge part of my life and I love to share and pass on the knowledge of this wonderful sport. I use Filipino Martial Arts training at Primary schools in Denmark to teach basic concepts of Math, Science. It is especially useful for training body motor skills that help developing eye-hand coordination which can improve children's ability to read and write.

I love to cook, travel, read, storytelling, our surrounding nature, exploring new cultures, learning new skills and last but not least, I love to spend time with my family.

Everyone has a WHY?

The WHY is the purpose, cause or belief that drives every single one of us

My WHY is: "To ignite the fire, so that other people can spark their ideas and dreams in life!"

  • what better way to do this, than to read and write stories.
